Enamel is a wonderful material; it is so unpredictable, and even when it doesn’t turn out as expected, the results can sometimes be even more beautiful. This piece incorporates two images of West African textiles enamelled onto copper, but the images are distorted and enhanced by clouds of bubbles that emerged during firing. Not what I intended, but I love it all the same.
